Arrow Senior Living is known for doing things a little differently and challenging the status quo within the industry. It’s just who we are! Even with all the technological conveniences of today such as social media and websites, it is still common to meet individuals with a skewed perception of what senior living looks like. In this blog, I want to share my senior living journey, why I remain committed to the industry, the biggest myth I believe exists, and how to help others overcome the myths surrounding our beautiful The Plaza at Wildwood Senior Living community and services.
I found my way to the Executive Director role by stepping in as interim at the Plaza to support the team. Throughout your career, you’ve had the privilege of working in various senior living communities. This experience has provided you with a comprehensive understanding of their expectations and daily operations.
What motivates me to come to the community every day is the residents. My aim is to make a meaningful difference. This involves resolving significant issues or assisting residents with their personal needs. I believe in addressing even the smallest needs to improve their overall quality of life.
One of the greatest myths about senior living is that it lacks a home-like environment. Senior living communities are the complete opposite. One of the aspects I appreciate most about senior living is the emphasis on creating a warm, home-like atmosphere, which facilitates a smooth and comfortable transition for residents.
Our community speaks for itself. Conducting tours and inviting families, guests, and other residents to experience the environment firsthand helps us dispel misconceptions. It also provides a clearer understanding of what senior living truly entails.
